Counselling with Rich

About me
My name is Rich, and I am a fully qualified counsellor following three and a half years of training from the Heartwood Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling at Dartington College in Devon.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), adhering closely to the ethical standards of this organisation.
Additionally, I am a British Wheel of Yoga certified teacher (BWYdip) and have practiced mindfulness for over thirty years, which deeply informs my approach to counselling and well-being.

Mindful Therapy
If you have an interest in Mindfulness, then I can support you in developing the ability to exist peacefully and non-judgementally in the present moment.
We can naturally let go of future worries and stop ruminating about the past.
Mindfulness also allows us to learn to savour and appreciate the beauty of our moment to moment awareness, so that we can feel grateful and appreciative of the simple joys of life that we can so often overlook in our busy lives.

Why 'www.eastwestrich.com'?
Beginnings
In my early twenties, I fell in love with yoga and soon developed a daily routine of morning postures and relaxation. The calm and peace it brought me naturally led to exploring different forms of meditation and mindfulness, practices that continue to enrich my life today.
Kindness and Compassion
Inspired by a deep desire to share the open-heartedness that meditation has given me, I began my counselling training in 2021. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and I am a registered member of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP), following their ethical framework to guide my practice.
East Meets West
Now that I can combine my knowledge of the Eastern art of meditation and mindfulness, with Western psychology and counselling, I live in a world where 'East meets West.' As my experience has grown, I have found myself increasingly drawn to supporting men with the identity issues they face in their day to day lives.
