FAQs

What happens at our first session?

In our first session, we’ll have the chance to get to know each other, and you’ll be able to ask any questions about how we’ll work together in therapy.

I’ll take a few notes and ask some questions to make sure I’m the right counsellor for you. If I feel another service might better meet your needs, I’ll gently guide you in that direction to ensure you get the best support possible.

How often do we meet?

Clients normally see me once a week particularly at the beginning.  With regular sessions healing and understanding develop more quickly.  As therapy progresses some clients prefer to have more time to reflect between sessions and may prefer to meet every two weeks or even monthly.  Everyone is different and together we can work out what is best for you.

What are your fees?

£50 per session

I have a limited number of reduced fee sessions for students and low incomes.  Please contact me for availability.

Sunset over the beach at Kintra, Isle of Mull.

If I come to you for counselling, do I need to have an interest in Buddhism or Yoga?

Not at all.  Although I am fascinated by Buddhism and Yoga I understand it is not everyone's cup of tea.  I would only introduce Buddhism or Yoga Vedanta if you choose this to be part of your therapy.

How will I find the counselling room?

Before our first session, I will e-mail you the address and some instructions on where to park and how to find the room.
